The Samsung Netbook isn’t vapourware, as these official shots of the Netbook prove.

The still unnamed Netbook is set for launch at the end of October, and orders are already in place with resellers. Demand has been so positive that Samsung UK has rushed these first shots of the device to us.

As you can see from the images, it’s a 10.2-inch model and we’re told it will come in three different colours – White, Black and Blue.

In order to fit as large a keyboard as possible on the Netbook, you won’t find any superfluous media keys. Instead, the power button is positioned on the side of the Netbook, along with VGA-out, audio and a USB port. The other side sports Ethernet, power input and two more USB ports.

So far, nothing out of the ordinary, but the keyboard looks fantastic. It takes up most of the main body with a spacious touchpad and dual-click mouse button making up the rest of the chassis.

The full specification is still under wraps but we can expect it to ship with Windows XP, be powered by an Intel Atom N270 processor and 1024MB of memory. When it comes to storage, there's no official word on the sizes available for the UK but it’ll be a standard hard drive, so most likely 80GB or 120GB.

We’ve been told the battery will be a 6-cell unit and Samsung’s initial tests show a battery life well in excess of five hours.

No word on pricing yet, but Samsung informed us it’ll be very much in-keeping with similar offerings on the market, so around £330 (inc VAT) then?
